Hi Kimbie

The new software version for the Sorento is
UM.EU.SOP.10.103.

The new map system version is 7.6.5 / 2015.08.18.

We recommend using your
menu and about/info options to check your system / software versions.

I tried a little experiment this morning to test out the newest version of our maps!!!!I got my C'eed in November '13. At that time my Kia dealer, Marshall Kia (Sc**thorpe) [I only type that 'cos I like to see it censored!!!] was being shown nearly a mile away from where it actually is. Today, after 2 map upgrades it's still a mile away. The actual premises can be approached from 4 different directions and only one of them would lead you to it BUT you would be sailing straight past for another mile or so using the satnav. Any of the other 3 directions and strangers, breakdown services etc would not find it without asking someone. If we can't plot our own "important little places" properly, can we have confidence in any of it???

I love it really.

I was coming up the M3 yesterday and the Nav wanted me to go left, up and around the M25 to the Hoo Peninsular saying it was 89 miles. I headed right around the bottom (normal route) and the Nav said 64 miles. What was that all about? There was a traffic jam on the M25 heading for the Dartford Crossing, so does the Nav system
reroute to avoid the jams. The other odd quirk is, it says "there are traffic situations on your route", when you are sitting in a jam, Doh!!!

Thanks

My new KX3 was in at the dealer for a map upgrade last week - they told me there was no upgrade for my model. But you seem to have later software than me.

I have sw: ST.UM.EUR.E456.150205
NAVI: ST4.EUR.KMC.150204.68323
MAP: EUR.07.48.65.001.001

I'm starting to get frustrated with this whole maps/software aspect of my car now!

I've just had my 2014 soul updated by Canterbury Kia,
One thing I've noticed about the update is that you now have android auto, https://www.android.com/auto/
If you download the app from the App Store to your phone then plug it into the usb port with the charging cable you then get google features, full google maps with Internet search also google music and full google phone control on your satnav screen.
So from now on I don't see the point in updating my maps .Edited by: Gazza1970

I had my Venga maps updated today ""“ a while-you-wait-for-45 minutes service.

Here are the new software and map details

I have no idea what make the head unit is or whose maps are installed. I cannot see any obvious differences to my previous 2013 Venga which was loaded with HERE maps.

Whilst at the dealership I filled in my time by taking a good look at the new Niro. It's external appearance appears very bland for a KIA but it is a roomy and comfortable car at first glance. Luggage space is not very generous though ""“ I didn't measure it but it seems less roomy than the Venga ""“ especially with the seats up.

The dealer did not offer a brochure and advised me to come to their grand Niro launch this week-end when full details will be available. I shall not bother ""“ I'm happy with the Venga and the bigger Niro would take up too much space in my garage.

I had mine done, on my 2015 KX4 Sorento, on Wednesday and the details, apart from the Device ID, are the same as yours. I checked with Kia Customer care and their view was that as only one update has been sent out in the last 12+ months, any update has to be correct! Apparently there are a number of head units that result in different S/W and Map versions. I have no sign of Android Auto but what I didn't have before I can't miss!

Hi AlanHo, enjoy your posts, keep 'em coming. Niro is not designed to replace anything, it's creating it's own space. If, like me, you were updating from a C'eed 3 it looks considerably bigger with improved boot space. Her indoors won't drive "big" cars, the C'eed was a step up from her Corsa, which was a STEP up from her Citroen AX, and this is a bigger car than she has ever driven before but she liked it and let me have my way (if you get my meaning) Like living in Norfolk, everything is relative!!!

My car went in for a software and map update on 15th July but thre maps refused to install - so it was booked in for another attempt on 10th August after I returned from holiday.

The software update deleted all the favourites on the sat-nav and some other settings.

When the maps were installed - yet again I lost all my favourites and settings. I am tempted to think that when they installed the new maps they installed the software again - but the work took less than 1 hour so perhaps not.Edited by: AlanHo

Just had my maps updated. Like you it was the dealers second attempt. Lost all favourites and a number of other settings at the first attempt when the software was updated but didn't lose anything this time when the map update was successful. Pleased with the update new local roundabout is showing on the new maps and garages that have long been shut are now removed from the maps. Happy to pay what I think is a very reasonable price.

Hello Ant - glad to hear you got your map updated - I recently took mine in but, as you and others found out, it failed to load.

Can you tell me the version number of your new map? Mine is currently EUR.08.47.50.001.001(D.B1) which is first quarter 2015.
